Abbie Chatfield has shared a very telling throwback image
of herself and boyfriend Adam Hyde, six months before they went Instagram Official.

The veteran presenter, 29, and the Peking Duk frontman went public with their relationship in June.

However another racy photo, taken before they became
a couple, captured Abbie and Adam waiting patiently together in a fast food line, with the presenter looking absolutely smitten over the strapping musician.

Abbie had a huge smile on her face in the adorable picture, as she gazed intensely at Adam as they
    chatted while waiting to order.

She captioned the picture: 'One year and two days
since this iconic photo of me being in love with Adam.

'Before we ever even slept together LMAO. "Nah, I don't have a crush on him anymore".'

    Both pictured

The podcast host was braless in the image, and her low-slung skirt showed plenty of skin.

Shortly after they went public with their relationship, Abbie opened up about her sex life with her boyfriend in a candid and wide-ranging chat on her It's A Lot podcast.

She appeared on the bonus Ask Me Anything episode with Adam, in which they discussed their budding romance.

As the new couple fielded questions about their bond, musician Adam cheekily boasted
    about the couple's sizzling chemistry.

It comes after Abbie revealed the sexual act she would never engage in with her boyfriend.

She recently opened up about the launch of her 'kink kit' sex toys and admitted when it comes to bedroom fun, it's strictly a two-person affair.

The veteran presenter, 29, whose relationship with the Peking Duk frontman went public in June,
posted a loved-up image of them to Instagram from November last
year. The photo captured Abbie and Adam waiting patiently together, with
    the presenter looking smitten

While she does fantasise about having a ménage à trois, Abbie admitted it's something she could never actually go through
    with.

'I have a fantasy about seeing my partner f*** someone else,' she told
    News Corp.

'But I think I know in my heart that I don't actually want to see it.

I just want to talk about it like, that's something
that I find hot. But in reality, would I want to see that?
    Probably not.'

'Whenever we get to a point where we're like, "let's have a threesome!", I'm like, "I don't actually know if I'm gonna want to see that",' she continued.

Tim Dillon, who makes a brief appearance in Joker: Folie à Deux,
has described the new sequel as 'terrible'
and 'the worst film ever made'.

The follow-up to the Oscar-winning 2019 film, starring Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck (Joker)
and Lady Gaga as Lee Quinzel (Harley Quinn), faced negative reviews from critics before its October
4 release and flopped at the box office.

Tim, 39, who played a guard at Arkham Asylum in the movie, said Todd Philips's new film has 'no plot' and admitted
he knew it was 'going to bomb' while filming.

Speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Tim said: 'It's the worst film ever
    made.

'I think what happened, after the first Joker, there was a lot of
talk like, 'Oh, this was loved by incels. This was loved by the wrong kinds of people.
This sent the wrong kind of message. Male rage! Nihilism!
    All these think pieces.

Arthur Fleck (Joker) and Lady Gaga as Lee Quinzel (Harley
Quinn), faced negative reviews from critics before its October 4 release and flopped at the box office

'And then I think, 'What if we went the other way,' and now they have Joaquin Phoenix and
Lady Gaga tap dancing to a point where it's insane.'

He continued: 'It has no plot. We would sit there, me and these
other guys were all dressed in these security outfits because we're working at the Arkham Asylum, and I would turn to one of them and we'd
hear this crap and I'd go, 'What the f*** is this?'
And they'd go, 'This is going to bomb, man.' I go, 'This is
the worst thing I've ever seen.'

'We were talking about it at lunch, and we'd go, 'What is the plot?

Is there a plot? I don't know, I think he falls in love with her in the prison?' It's not even hate-watchable.
    That's how terrible it is.'

Despite the negative reviews a number of fans of the sequel took to social media after its release last
month to defend the sequel to Todd Phillips' 2019 motion picture.

The film debuted to a paltry $40 million at the domestic box office,
good enough for the weekend's top spot, but less than projections, and half that of its predecessor.

Amid the early returns, a number of fans took up for the movie and its cinematic
depth, in breaking away from the cookie cutter nature of sequels to
introduce a musical element not present in the first film, with Lady Gaga joining
    the franchise.

'Joker 2 was amazing,' one user said, adding that it
was '100% as divisive as people are making it out to be.
I love that the film didn't try to be a traditional sequel, and
fully committed to the storytelling they presented.
It never deviated to be a film full of Easter eggs or any other crowd pleasing
    aspects.'

Another user said, 'I kinda loved Joker 2. I loved
how it was structured as a meta-exploration of the first film's fandom and the musical elements were a lot
    of fun.'

to defend the sequel to Todd Phillips' 2019 motion picture

One user marvelled that Joker 2 is 'getting universal hate despite being more interesting and creative
than anything marvel has done in years is expected.'

It comes after lead star Lady Gaga was left 'disappointed' at the immense flood of negative reactions to Joker: Folie à Deux,
with the singer's team now keen to quickly push out other projects to help distract from the furore over the film, insiders claim.

Todd Phillips‘ sequel has bombed, raking in just under $40 million at the domestic box office, and receiving the lowest CinemaScore in comic book movie history.

Gaga, 38, is reportedly confused at the lack of love for
her turn as Harleen Lee Quinzel, aka Harley Quinn, alongside Joaquin Phoenix,
49, as the Joker - a role that won him the best actor Oscar in 2019 - in the wake of
the standing ovation it received at the Venice Film Festival last month.

'Gaga is surprised by the response to Joker 2 and is shocked that people don't love it after the response it received from
critics before it premiered,' a source exclusively told DailyMail.com.

'She put so much heart into the movie and has so much respect for the DC comics fan base.'

They added: 'Her team is quietly looking at other projects they
can roll out as they want to move on this from as quickly
    as possible.'

distract from the furor over the film, insiders claim

But despite the lacklustre reception from fans, a second source claimed she is
not letting it deter her from returning to the big screen, with the singer said to be eyeing up a Quentin Tarantino movie.

'She is disappointed that Joker is pretty much a bomb,' they said.

'She thought that this film could get her an Oscar
nomination, especially since the first film was such a success and Joaquin won an Oscar.

'She would now like to land a role in Quentin Tarantino's next and final film.
Nobody knows what that is going to be, but she wants to audition.

'She's going to lobby hard to get a meeting with him once a script is presented, it is
a bucket list moment for her to be involved.'

Audacious, different, bold and brilliant! Joker: Folie a Deux is a
punchline five years in the making, and boy is it worth the
    wait, writes BRIAN VINER

Five years have passed since the triumphant opening of Joker at the Venice Film Festival.
I still vividly remember reeling out of a morning screening, dazzled less by the unforgiving glare of the Venetian sun than by the movie we'd just been shown.

Five years have passed since the triumphant opening of Joker
at the Venice Film Festival. I still vividly remember reeling out of
a morning screening, dazzled less by the unforgiving glare of the Venetian sun than by the movie
    we'd just been shown.

Last night, here in Venice, came the world premiere of the sequel, Joker: Folie a Deux The
director is again Todd Phillips, with Joaquin Phoenix once more in the title role, this time joined by Lady Gaga as what I suppose
we must call the love interest, although that would undervalue her wonderful performance.

The film is audaciously different in style from the original, not quite as electrifying, but bold and brilliant all the same.

It begins with a kind of sinister jauntiness with a Joker
animation in the style of a Tom & Jerry cartoon, to show that
since the events of the first movie, Arthur Fleck along with his murderous alter ego has become a cultural
phenomenon in Gotham City. There has even been a TV movie
    about him.

Joaquin Phoenix is once more in the title role, this time joined by
Lady Gaga as what I suppose we must call the love
interest, although that would undervalue her wonderful
    performance

The film is audaciously different in style from the original,
not quite as electrifying, but bold and brilliant all the same

Joker: Folie a Deux is released on October 4, 2024
and will premiere at the 81st annual Venice Film Festival

But Arthur is behind bars, waiting to see whether he will
be judged sane enough to stand trial for murder, and in the meantime enjoying his celebrity
status both with fellow prisoners and even the warders, one of whom, a
sadistic Irishman played by Brendan Gleeson, feeds him cigarettes in return for jokes.

Lady Gaga plays Lee, a fellow inmate on her way, we suppose, to becoming Joker's
girlfriend Harley Quinn. The pair hit it off at a music therapy class, and are soon mutually smitten, but Lee makes it clear that she loves the dangerously charismatic Joker,
‘clown prince of crime', not the gloomily introspective Arthur.

Indeed, identity confusion is the theme of this film, which delves even deeper than the original into schizophrenia
and other types of mental illness.

It's been said that Folie a Deux is a musical. It's not, but music looms large as an expression of Arthur and Lee's burgeoning love for one another.
It is while watching Vincente Minnelli's 1953 classic The Band Wagon that Lee, who claims to
have been imprisoned for arson, sets fire to their prison wing.

The ensuing chaos provides an excellent opportunity to escape, yet Phillips and his co-writer Scott Silver toy with our expectations
throughout; each time we anticipate which way the narrative
is going to go, it confounds us by wheeling off in another direction.

The music is a constant, though, with Lady Gaga giving her interpretation of lovely old
Burt Bacharach and even Motown numbers, and
Phoenix more than holding his own. There are also a couple of swooning dance routines that
make Arthur and Lee look like psychotic versions of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in La La Land.

Eventually, after Arthur's high-profile TV appearance with
a smug interviewer played by Steve Coogan, it is time for the
trial, with all of Gotham gripped by the subject of multiple personality disorder.

Is Arthur the defendant accused of five murders, or is it Joker?
His kindly lawyer (Catherine Keener) wants to
make clear it is Arthur; Lee just as urgently
wants him to identify as Joker.

For those cinema-goers who consider Joker: Folie a Deux to be just another unnecessary Batman spin-off, you should maybe think again

All this is compellingly directed by Phillips, and superbly
acted by Phoenix especially, in a role for which he
seems custom-made, but by Gaga too. We've known since A Star
is Born in 2018 that she can act, but she really is terrific in a bad-girl
role. They'd have loved her at St Trinians.

As for those cinema-goers who consider Joker: Folie a Deux to be just another unnecessary Batman spin-off,
    you should maybe think again.

This might not quite be in the top rank of films about mental
illness, alongside all-time greats such as Psycho and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
But it's not too far off.

Joker: Folie a Deux opens in the UK on October 4, 2024.

LONDON, May 12 (Reuters) - Philip Morris International's $16 billion bid for smaller rival
Swedish Match highlights the urgency among cigarette makers to tap new and potentially less harmful alternatives
as regulation and health concerns snuff out traditional smokes.

Marlboro maker Philip Morris agreed on Wednesday to buy Swedish Match, one of the world's biggest makers of oral
nicotine products. These include Snus - a sucked tobacco product the firm says is less harmful than smoking
    - as well as Zyn nicotine pouches, which are used
    the same way and tobacco-free.

Both are niche products, but are growing, with Swedish Match's almost
50% share of the global tobacco-free oral nicotine market putting it ahead of both British American Tobacco and Altria Group in that category.

Thomas Russo, managing partner at Gardner Russo &
Gardner which owns shares in both Philip Morris (PMI) and Swedish Match, welcomed the tie-up as opening a "new field" for PMI's smoke-free products,
which include iQOS tobacco heating devices.

"It's a deal that would continue industry consolidation that's been underway for the past decade," he said.

    Russo's U.S. investment firm has a 0.47% stake in PMI and a 0.09%
holding in Swedish Match, according to Refinitiv data.

Tobacco companies have scrambled over the past decade to find new markets as regulators crack down on cigarettes and
more people quit smoking due to the health risks.

Snus - a Swedish-style snuff - is a moist, smoke-free tobacco product that is placed behind the upper lip, either loose or in portioned sachets.
The global market for snus increased from 7,000 tonnes in 2008 to nearly 10,000
tonnes in 2019, according to data firm Euromonitor.

In 2019, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the marketing of Swedish Match's Snus as
    less harmful than cigarettes.

    DEALMAKING

The possible PMI-Swedish Match deal is the latest in a string of investments
by the $900 billion-plus tobacco industry in potentially lower risk
products, including e-cigarettes and tobacco heating devices.

Euromonitor estimates the global market for smokeless tobacco, e-vapour
products and heated tobacco was about $67 billion in 2021, nearly three
times the size it was in 2016.

PMI Chief Executive Jacek Olczak said last year his company had spent more than $8 billion on reduced risk products since it began developing them a decade ago.

He said then that PMI would reach its 2025 target
for 50% of sales from smoke-free products by growing its existing business, rather than acquisitions.

But buying Swedish Match, would give PMI - which was spun off from Altria in 2008 - an established U.S.
market and distribution system, Bernstein analyst Callum Elliot said.

"That said, the deal hasn't gone through yet," Elliot added.
"I imagine that Swedish Match is a business that could be appealing to other players within the industry, and we wouldn't be surprised to see a counter bid from other companies, particularly Japan Tobacco Inc."

A Japan Tobacco spokesperson said the company does not comment on rumours or speculation.

    COMPETITION

PMI, the No.3 cigarette company in 2020 after China National
Tobacco Corp and British American Tobacco (BAT), has not been alone in its attempts to expand beyond combustible tobacco.

News of its move on Swedish Match sent Altria shares down about 9% on Tuesday as investors worried about a step
up in competition for the U.S. company.

In 2018, Altria bought a 35% stake in e-cigarette company Juul Labs Inc for
$12.8 billion. A year later, it bought 80% of Burger Söhne
Holding AG, allowing it to distribute the Swiss company's
    On! oral nicotine pouches.

Other rivals are watching with interest.

"We think a multi-category strategy in tobacco and nicotine is the right one," BAT's chief
marketing officer Kingsley Wheaton told Reuters on Tuesday.

BAT is the world No.2 in tobacco-free oral nicotine products behind
Swedish Match. Sales at its "new categories" division jumped
51% to 2.05 billion pounds ($2.52 billion) last year, helped by its e-cigarettes and oral nicotine products.

The London-listed company is aiming for the division to reach revenues of 5 billion pounds, and profitability,
    by 2025.

"As our business transforms, our portfolio transforms, and, so too, our competitive landscape will evolve," Wheaton said.

While PMI is pursing Swedish Match, other rivals prefer to go it alone.

Imperial Brands is focusing on developing its own products in the heated tobacco market,
particularly in Europe, a spokesperson said.

But there is still all to play for.

"The whole next-generation product space is still very nascent - no one in the industry has yet created any next generation product which really, fully replicates the experience of a smoked cigarette or a traditional cigarette," the spokesperson said.

Joker: Folie À Deux — starring Lady Gaga and
Joaquin Phoenix — has garnered the lowest CinemaScore in comic book movie history as the film bombed at the box office on opening night.

The psychological musical thriller — which has been criticized
as 'bleak' and 'disappointing' — officially released in theaters
on Friday, October 4, but it only raked in $20 million at the domestic box office, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Phoenix reprised his role as the Joker in the sequel, which
had earned him an Oscar for his portrayal in the 2019 film, while Gaga took on the role of Harleen Lee Quinzel
    (Harley Quinn).

However, Joker: Folie À Deux has been given a D rating
on CinemaScore — the lowest score for a comic book movie.

Madame Web — which notably also flopped in theaters earlier
this year and also received terrible reviews — holds a
    higher score with a C+.

book movie history as the film bombs at the box office on opening night

It received a D rating on CinemaScore - the lowest score for a
    comic book movie

On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie currently holds an audience score of 31% and a critic score of 32%.

The sequel is projected to rake in less that $50 million at the domestic box office during the entirety of opening
    weekend, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Joker: Folie À Deux is branded 'bleak' and
the 'most disappointing follow-up' by critics

Weeks ago, the movie had been projected to bring in around $70 million - but the number has since drastically dropped.

Joker (2019) notably opened with $96.2 million when the film first released in theaters - and eventually landed a
little over $1 billion in the global box office.

The first movie - which was also directed by Todd Phillips - had a
budget of between $55 and $70 million. However,
the budget increased for Folie À Deux to around $200 million.

The 2019 movie garnered praise and positive reviews from both critics and audiences - and won the
Golden Lion during the 76th Venice International Film Festival.

Joaquin received an Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal of the Joker (Arthur Fleck) - and the film
garnered an additional Academy Award for Best Original Score.

The sequel also screened during the Venice International Film Festival last month in September, where it earned a 12-minute standing ovation, per Deadline.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie currently holds an audience score of 31%
and a critic score of 32%

However, audiences have since taken to X after the movie released
in theaters on Friday - and shared their opinions on the sequel,
    which features musical sequences.

One fan penned, 'Joaquin Phoenix don't deserve this. what happened to the script?' while
another added, 'is it that bad,' followed by a
    crying face emoji.

'Ironically I feel that a musical, if done well, could have been a good choice.
It'd show how much of an unreliable narrator
    Fleck is,' one typed.

'But with some original songs, that keep everything vague, not just covers.
Also when I heard of the ending I snorted fr.'

A social media user wrote, 'Stop making sequels as musicals
if the original wasn't a musical.'

'Maybe he [Phillips] only had an hour long movie, and decided
to randomly add musical scenes to fill the runtime,' one penned.

'Joker downfall really needs to be studied,' another shared,
along with a monkey staring out a window.

One fan said, 'the movie sucks. i had to walk out of the cinema,'
while another penned, 'After years of disagreement....*Joker 2
    releases* Critics [shaking hands] Audience.'

    one typed

'Joker downfall really needs to be studied,' another shared, along with a monkey staring out a window

'That's way below what we expected,' one wrote in regards to the current Rotten Tomatoes scores.
'People are saying this is the worst sequel ever.'

A fan explained, 'yea this film was bad. it was pretentious and
dull. has the aesthetic of an arthouse film without the substance.'

'It also insults the audience's intelligence. the songs were also underwhelming too.
they shouldn't have let this escape to theaters.'

One shared, 'The audience that loved the first movie is not the same audience running to see musicals.
This was a gigantic mistake from step 1.'

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Phillips discussed whether he would be interested in making a third
Joker film or a movie centered around Gaga's character.

'It's not really where this movie is headed for me. I feel like my time in the DC Universe was
    these two films.'

Ahead of the movie's release, Lady Gaga also dropped an accompanying album titled Harlequin on September 27.

Joker: Folie À Deux has been branded the 'most disappointing follow-up to the Oscar-winning movie' by critics,
as they cast doubt on Lady Gaga's 'thin' role in the film following its release
    on Friday.

A fan explained, 'yea this film was bad. it was pretentious and
dull. has the aesthetic of an arthouse film without the substance'

The 'bleak' sequel, has also received a tepid reception from
fans, with some claiming Lady Gaga's career could be at risk.

While the same director Todd Phillips was back in the hot seat,
critics have said the sequel is just a 'repeat' of the first
hit but with an added musical twist.

Most critics have said Todd failed to use Gaga correctly in the movie and claimed she was only
bought in for the musical aspect of it.

While the majority of critics say Joker: Folie À Deux didn't live up to expectations, others have dubbed the movie 'bold' and 'brilliant.'

Daily Mail's Brian Viner commended the move as 'bold' and 'brilliant'
but said it lacked any thrill.

The Independent's Geoffrey Macnab said: 'Today Joker is best remembered as one of the most
subversive and original films of the last decade, while its hugely anticipated sequel is just as bleak
and formally daring as its predecessor'.

Meanwhile, the Irish Times' Donald Clarke gave the movie just two stars but credited Phillips' work
for making a sequel following the first movie's $1billion success.

Financial Times critic Danny Leigh said although Gaga worked hard to bump the ratings up in the
sequel, Phillips appeared to have no idea what to do with her.

Giving a three star rating, The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw
claimed the movie proves 'claustrophobic' and
    'repetitive.'

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Phillips discussed whether
    he would be interested in making a third Joker film or a movie centered around Gaga's character;
Phillips, Gaga and Phoenix seen in September in L.A.

Joker: Folie À Deux has been branded the 'most
disappointing follow-up to the Oscar-winning movie' by critics, as they cast doubt on Lady Gaga's
'thin' role in the film following its release on Friday; seen in September in London

The Times' Kevin Maher wrote: 'The director Todd Phillips said there would be no follow-up to the original, but he changed his mind and
the result is a derivative musical'

'This might be the most disappointing follow-up to an Oscar-winning performance since Anthony Hopkins reworked
his silky and terrifying Dr Lecter from for the campy, kitschy.'

Along with Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix, other stars that had
appeared in the sequel include Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener,
    Zazie Beatz and Steve Coogan.

Joker: Folie à Deux has faced additional backlash from fans
as they have claimed that Gaga is running the risk of losing her
    acting career.
